Here’s what makes Az-Zahra Secondary School uniquely impactful for your child’s growth:
KSSM Academic Curriculum (Kementerian Pendidikan Malaysia)
Our academic foundation is built on the Kurikulum Standard Sekolah Menengah (KSSM) set by the Kementerian Pendidikan Malaysia. Students receive a structured, comprehensive education covering core subjects such as Bahasa Melayu, English, Mathematics, Science, History, and Islamic Studies, ensuring they meet national academic benchmarks and are well-prepared for public examinations and higher education opportunities.
To cater to diverse talents and career aspirations, the Upper Secondary students can choose from three specialized streams which are Pure Science, Science & Technology and Social Science.
Kurikulum dan Pentaksiran Integrated Gifted and Talented Education (IGEd) Kolej, PERMATA Insan (USIM)
At Az-Zahra Secondary School (AZSS), we stand as a beacon of academic excellence and moral integrity, shaping future leaders with both heart and intellect. We are proud to be the first private school to integrate the esteemed integrated gifted and talented education (IGEd) into our curriculum, harmoniously blending rigorous scholarship with spiritual refinement. This academic approach integrates Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) with Islamic sciences and knowledge, uniting Naqli and Aqli knowledge (INAQ) into a single, holistic learning experience. This hybrid, gifted, and talented Islamic program empowers exceptional Muslim students to master STEM disciplines while exploring a vast array of topics through the lens of the Qur’an and Sunnah—the bedrock of Islamic thought.
At AZSS, tradition meets innovation: modern pedagogical methods ignite curiosity, while timeless wisdom shapes noble character. Our students are nurtured as active seekers—encouraged to think critically, communicate eloquently, and act with unwavering integrity. Through immersive lessons, collaborative projects, and character-building experiences, they are prepared not only for academic excellence but for life’s evolving challenges. Our mission is to cultivate a vibrant community where curiosity flourishes, faith is strengthened, and excellence becomes second nature—ensuring every learner emerges as a luminary in service to faith, nation, and humanity.
Holistic Islamic Morning Routine
Every school day at Az-Zahra Secondary School begins with a spiritually enriching morning routine. Students engage in Al-Ma’thurat recitation, Solat Dhuha, Tadabbur and Tadarus Al-Quran, Usrah sessions, and Hadith 40 recitation — fostering spiritual strength, positive character, and love for the Sunnah. These practices nurture hearts, build unity, and set the tone for a productive, barakah-filled day guided by prophetic wisdom.
Pre- Tahfiz Program
Our Tahfiz Program offers students the opportunity to memorise selected surahs and portions of the Al-Quran as part of their personal and spiritual development. The program is designed to be achievable and balanced alongside their academic studies, aiming for memorisation of partial juzuk over the course of their schooling years. Students will also be guided in understanding the tafsir and application of the Quran in daily life.
